2024 Summer Intensive Training Plan

Why Cultivate?

Because I know I can do better.

There are countless people out there who are smarter than me, more experienced than me, and far ahead of me in the field of cybersecurity. Every time I read an impressive write-up, see someone clear a difficult certification, or watch a player dominate a CTF, I am reminded of how much there is still to learn.

Instead of being discouraged by that, I want to use it as motivation.

This journey was never about being the best. It was about becoming better than I was yesterday.

This summer, I want to dedicate myself to improvement. Not because I have to, but because I want to discover what I am capable of when I stop making excuses and start putting in the work.

How Will I Cultivate?

My training will revolve around offensive security, CTFs, labs, and real-world attack simulations.

Some of the platforms and challenges I plan to focus on include:

  • Hack The Box machines and challenges
  • TryHackMe learning paths and labs
  • Sherlocks and DFIR investigations
  • picoCTF challenges
  • Active Directory labs
  • Malware analysis and reverse engineering
  • Web exploitation and privilege escalation
  • Various CTF platforms and practice environments

Along the way, I will publish write-ups, document my learning process, and share whatever interesting things I discover.

I also want to begin preparing for more advanced goals, including certifications such as:

  • CRTP
  • CRTO
  • CRTL
  • ARTOC

These certifications represent skills that I want to develop over the coming years, and every machine, challenge, and lab I complete is another step toward that goal.

Maybe a year from now, I’ll come back to this post and laugh at how little I knew.
Hopefully, I’ll also be proud of how far I’ve come.
